Last weekend we headed to a little lakehouse in Pinckney, Michigan to spend some time with our college friends. Every October we plan a weekend to get together with a group of friends. One person plans the weekend near their current location and we all go and stay there. Last year we went to Clearwater, FL. This year fewer people were able to make it, but we enjoyed seeing those who were able to make it.
We got in late Friday night and got the girls settled down to sleep. On Saturday morning we took the girls out for a little walk (very short, since Greta wanted to go back inside). The leaves were all changing up there and it was quite lovely.
For a good part of the day we just hung out and chatted. Both Greta and Eloise enjoyed lots of attention from our friends, since they were the only children there this year.
Later we drove to a cider mill and got some delicious donuts and cider to take back to the house. Back behind the cider mill was a lovely little river. Greta fell asleep on the way there, so she didn’t get to enjoy the sights.
On the way home we stopped to get some ice cream and play at a fun little park. Make sure to watch the video.
On Sunday we went to mass and then out to lunch in Ann Arbor. We met up with another one of my college friends, but I neglected to take the camera out of the bag. I know someone took pictures, so eventually I will get them! (really no rush). We went and got ice cream again, yum. Then we went back to the lakehouse for dinner and a bonfire! Greta fell asleep on the way back and slept for 4 hours (she doesn’t nap anymore, but when she does it is usually a marathon nap), so she was able to enjoy the bonfire for a bit.
On Monday we spent the morning cleaning up before heading out to lunch and going our separate ways.
On the drive back into Ann Arbor I snapped a few pictures out the window of the beautiful fall leaves. We headed home with two tuckered out girls. It was great to see everyone and we can’t wait until next year when we host!
