Shortly after my mom left we had our first snowfall of the year. We got a couple of inches and of course the girls went out to play in it. This was Beatrice’s first time playing in the snow and she loved it! Thankfully the snow melted by the end of the day and we got some more normal November weather.
About a month ago, right after the Hurricane, my mom came to visit for a few days. We can’t wait to see her again after Christmas. At first Beatrice was fine with my mom, but then she entered super separation anxiety phase and on her last day here she screamed the entire time I was in the shower because I left her with my mom for 5 minutes. In the last picture, you can see how Beatrice refused to participate in getting one last picture with CeCe before she left. Here are a few pictures from her visit.
We celebrated Thanksgiving with Matt’s family this year. First up we headed to Matt’s parents’ for the lunchtime meal, which is the big Thanksgiving dinner for us. The girls loved playing with their cousins and we were all thankful for such beautiful weather that allowed us to be outside for a long time. Dinner was yummy, everyone brought something so Matt’s mom didn’t have to prepare everything.
After a little rest and downtime we headed over to Matt’s uncle’s house for the evening meal. Matt’s mother is the oldest of 16 kids and most of them get together for the holidays. A few live out of town and were just in town for the wedding a few weeks ago, so didn’t make the trek back for Thanksgiving, but it was so nice to see everyone again so soon. Our girls are some of the youngest and really love all the attention the older cousins give them.
Greta was Tinkerbell for her school Halloween parade. Eloise wanted to dress up for the parade as well.
We went trick-or-treating on Saturday, November 3, since our neighborhood still didn’t have power on Oct. 31 from Hurricane Sandy. Greta was a princess, Eloise was Minnie Mouse and Beatrice was a monkey.
About a month ago we headed down to the DC area for our 10 year college reunion. We have a group of friends who we get together with every October and this year we opted to go to the actual reunion. We got to see a few other people we don’t normally see but overall, not really worth the extra effort of going back to the college. Maybe if we had attended the event specifically for our class we would have seen more people, but it took place at a bar in the evening, when we knew everyone would be tired, cranky and not able to be confined and listen to us chit-chat. Maybe at our 20 year reunion 🙂
We stayed with one of our friend’s parents who were gracious enough to host us and our loud children. We got to meet one of the new babies and see our godson and his brother. We had to cut our trip short due to Hurricane Sandy approaching. Here are a few pictures from our trip.
Last weekend Greta was a flower girl for the second time. This time she was in the wedding of one of Matt’s cousins. She loved every second of it. A funny story: When we picked up the dress Greta suggested she needed a long sleeved shirt to wear underneath it. She was completely serious as usually she wears long sleeved shirts underneath sleeveless dresses, especially in the winter. Then I had to explain that this dress was supposed to have skinny straps and that’s it.
All three girls dressed up for the day.
Both big girls loved dancing with their cousins. Eloise got very sleepy and actually fell asleep while we were there. Beatrice fell asleep too. There are hardly any pictures of Beatrice as I was holding her most of the time. Beatrice is in a lovely phase of screaming any time I am not holding her.
And lastly just a few random pictures of the bride and groom that I liked. It is definitely much harder to take pictures at a wedding when you have three little kids, so there aren’t nearly as many as at past weddings, but overall I’m pleased with the pictures we got.
