winter pregnancies stink…

1. Snow and Ice: more likely to fall and hurt both me and the baby. plus very challenging to get to the hospital in the middle of a snowstorm. (We are forecasted to get another 18-24″ on Wednesday, so hoping for no baby then.)

2. Cold means more layers of clothing, which means it is even harder to move.

3. It is so much easier to get sick while pregnant, add that to cold & flu season and yuck. Plus baby is more likely to get sick in the middle of cold & flu season.

The only negative people complain about in the summer is being hot and they claim that is why it is better to be pregnant in the winter. Clearly they don’t live in the snowy, cold climates.

Yeah I’ve always had spring and summer babies–the heat definitely is not fun, but I haven’t had to contend with not reaching the hospital because of snow. You can always call your local firestation–they should know what to do! I’ll be lucky to make it in time with number four–if not at least I have Chris here!!

We were worried about hurricane season when Maggie was due. The tropical storm hit us the weekend after she was born. There is always some kind of weather situation to deal with. Great idea to have the fire station number handy!!
